For the purpose of these instruction we will use an Ozone LD Stunt, but the same method can be used for all 4 line traction kites.

If you unwind with your right hand on the bottom, make sure you wind the lines back up the same way, with your right hand at the bottom, this reduces the risk of a tangle the next time you
go to launch your kite.

Once you have unwound the lines you should place your peg through the loops on the bottom of the handles and peg them in to the ground, if you are do this on soft sand try and use a sand peg. They are larger than the one illustrates and have a slight curve to allow for better grip in the sand.
Once you have done this, walk back up towards your kite.
Before you take the kite out of its back, double check that the wind is still blowing on your face when you are looking towards your handles. The wind could have changed direction slightly since you started. If it has change direction move your kite round so that the wind is blowing in your face again.

Pull the kite out of the bag. You may find that when you pull the kite out of the bag that you have a couple of tangles in the lines.
The best thing to do is unfold the kite as much as possible and calmly undo the tangles, nine times out of ten it's a simple case of the bridle lines getting caught on the kite lines and can be untangled within seconds.

Once all the tangles are out of your lines, the kite should look similiar to the picture on the left. Inflated, and ready to fly!
Place the kite on the ground and if you are on the beach you can place piles of sand on the bottom of the kite. This makes sure the kite will not lift if the wind gusts! If you are on the grass you could place a bottle of water or something else that will roll off when you are ready to launch.
Walk back to your handles and put the kite killers on, hold the handles in one hand and remove the peg with the other. Keep the bottoms of the handles towards you. When you are ready to launch the kite, place your index finger above the top line on both sides and place your other fingers below the lines. Place your thumb either on top or around the back of the handles.
Now push the bottoms of the handles towards the kite and pull back equally on both handles.

Most of the power can be found directly in front of you, by moving the kite around this area you can produce enough power to pull you in a buggy, landboard or just the soles of your feet!
