Kiloran Bay is a lovely beach. You can either park at the viewing point, however when we were there the river was wide and would require you to paddle

though it. The alternative is to park in the field just a short distance back down the road. There is a sign asking people to leave the car in this area and to either cycle or walk if you want to go any further.

We parked here and then dragged our buggies and kites about 400 yards over the dunes and rocks.

Once on the beach the sand is golden and ideal for buggying or land boarding. The day we were there the wind was blowing offshore and to be honest very gusty.

We probably wouldn't use this beach again in this wind direction (Easterly).

The beach is backed by high dunes and cliffs to the left and right hand sides. I would really like to revisit this beach in an onshore wind because I believe it would be amazing.
We didn't have any local knowledge of the water e.g. rip tides so didn't venture in but again with an onshore / cross on, this beach would be suitable for kite surfing as well.

Judith got more kiting done on this beach than myself, I went out with the 10m Manta and got hit by a gust and flipped the buggy. Judith however cruised around on her 2m kite without any problems.

A sand peg is a must as the sand below the surface is loose and we almost lost two kites due to them pulling the pegs out! We ended up using 2 pegs per kite just to be sure!
