Insurance
We highly recommend everyone to have 3rd party insurance for kiting. It not only covers you if you have an accident and hurt someone while kiting but it also allows you to take part in many kite festivals organised around the UK.

TK recommends the Scottish Power Kite Association as they help secure a number of beaches in Scotland for kiting and also organise the Scottish racing and freestyle series. More details are below.

SPKA - Scottish Power Kite Association

The SPKA has been running for a number of years providing third party Insurance for participents of Power Kite related activities. Power Kiting comes in a number of forms, Kite Buggying, KiteATB'ing, Kite Surfing, Snow Kiting, Kite Jumping and Scudding.

Full Membership: £20
Cover up to £5 million, 3rd Party Liability Insurance. This is a blanket insurance policy provided via Perkins Slade that covers all power kite related activities. You will also receive Pilots licencing, attendance and voting rights at SPKA AGM and eligibility to Committee Membership.

The insurance allows you to participate in the sport both in the UK and abroad excluding the USA and Canada.

Family Membership: £40

This offers the same benefits as Full membership, but is aimed at 2 parents, with any number of children (under 18 at the same address).

The extra £5 per year that the SPKA charge for full membership (compared to BPKA) is used to promote the sport in Scotland and helps run events through-out the year.
