Lessons in Kiting are a great way to get in to the sport and learn the basics quickly.

Courses may vary depending on which school you attend but the courses tend to run along the outline below:

Prices may also vary so please contact us and we will try and put you in contact with a school which is close to you. If you run a school in Scotland and would like your contact details added to our database please also contact us.

Kiting course.
Learning to kite. This is where all courses begin. Learning to fly the kite.

You will learn how to pick a safe flying location, what obstacles to avoid and how to unpack a traction kite. During this course you will also learn how to launch, fly, land and pack away the kite.
This is usually only a 2 and a half hour course and aimed at giving you all the basics that you need to progress on to either the buggy or land board.

Buggy course.
Buggy lessonsLearn to harness the power of the wind with your kite and use it to pull you along the beach in a 3 wheeled buggy.
The buggy course starts the same as the kiting course but then after lunch you get a chance to use the kite with a buggy. You will learn how to control the kite and buggy together in a safe and controlled manner, your aim for the day is to go from A to B and back again, if time allows you may learn how to powerslide and more advanced moves such as two wheeling and riding backwards!!
This is probably the easiest form of traction kiting and it accessible to a large range of kiters.

Land boarding course.
Land boarding lessonWith the same kite skills as you have learnt from the kiting course you now get the chance to use the power to move you along the beach on an over sized skateboard. Land boarding requires more balance than the buggying but is just as much fun.
During the course you will learn how to get moving with the power of the kite, board from A to B and back again. Land boarding tends to require slightly more wind than buggying due to the smaller wheels but the school will have a full range of kites suitable for most wind speeds which will allow you to get the most out of the lesson.

Combo course.

The combo course gives you a taste of both buggying and land boarding. You may not get as much time learning each individual discipline however, it does give you a good idea of what side of the sport you may prefer to get in.
