Congratulations to Stuart McGougan for winning the SPKA kite buggy racing series and taking home the TractionKiting.co.uk Cup.
The cup was presented to Stuart at West Sands, St Andrews by Owain at the SPKA Summer Fly-in.
Second place was awarded to TK team riders Stephen Pirie (Ped) and third place was awarded to Mike Walters who is also a TK forum member. Well done guys!
The weather was perfect for the fly-in. When Owain arrived at the beach there wasn't any wind but the sun was out and it was a beautiful day to be at the beach, then a nice steady sea breeze kicked in just enough to allow Owain and others to get out for a play with their larger kites.
Once the tide came in a BBQ was setup and everyone had a good chat about races, kiting and who would have the best sun burn the following day!
The first race of the 2011-12 SPKA race season will be in Fraserburgh on the 1st and 2nd October. Full details can be found on the Scottish Power Kite Association website.
