Kit suggestions 9 Months, 1 Week ago
Evening troops, i am looking for suggestions on what kit to buy next.
I am looking at buying a harness and bar to play with not really looking for anything mental. Just something that will do for a start in maybe bugging.

This is what im looking at so far:

Hi,I would maybe suggest that if your planning buggying then maybe a seat harness would be a better idea

if you meant landboarding then i would still suggest a seat harness,as having used both myself i've preffered the seat harness as i found it easier on controlling my centre of gravity whilst boarding and able to keep better control on the power, plus on a personnal note i have a bad back and like the seat harness as it feels more like sitting down and leaning back rather than keeping the pressure on just my back with the other type of harness(not sure if that helps much)

Probably best to blag a go on a few harnesses and see what feels most comfortable and most natural when controlling the kite.

I have used a seat harness from day 1 for both landboarding & buggying. Some folks use a climbing harness or similar (think Ozone XC harness) but they can play havoc with your 'crown jewels'. Others use a waist harness for freestyle landboading. So it's really personal choice.

Can't really comment on the bar as I've not used one with a fixed bridle kite. What kite are you flying it with? The Ozone bars are good quality and I've had no problems with my depower bars on my Access/Frenzy in the past. Megatron loop is a great.

Happy hunting.

Cheers, Steve

The Ozone xc harness is a good one, taking up little space in the kite bag, but as has been said it leaves little room for the gonads. I modified mine by unpicking the stitching on the two front straps that come in behind the spreader bar, moving them apart as far as they'll go and resewing them. A bit of a mission but it worked well. Ozone really need to look at this harness and redesign it.....

There's a new XC harness available now. Not sure about the design changes but I'm sure the details are on the Ozone site. Kev has one and was looking to sell it.
