Looking at buying bigger kite since i seem to get very little wind up my way. Really just for messing around, maybe even having a go on buggy or board. Can i have your thoughts on selection below. I have a 1.2 and 4.5m. If anyone knows of pros and cons please let me know.
Eolo Radsail EVO2 10m De Power Kite .
Eolo Radsail Savage 8.5m.
2009 PKD Buster3 7m .
Cheers Stu.

Ok, from the kites you have picked Im guessing you are on a budget. The 10m Depower kite is probably going to be the equivant of a 6 or 7m kite but also maybe even down to about a 4m kite with more experience. My 10m Manta does me from 13mph winds up to 25mph, one kite for all conditions as long as its steady winds.
Never flown the savage but I have flown the Buster. The first thing you will notice with these kites is how slow they will move around the sky compared with your smaller kites. They will produce some lift, I believe the Savage has much more lift than the buster so keep that in mind and start off with it in really light winds.
Out of the 3 I would go for the Buster but I am slightly biased as I really like PKD kites

Might want to check out some reviews on racekites.com.
The Savage 8.5m is down to a bargain price of £257 at Skymonster, with the EVO 2 10m depower around £459, so this might be a big factor in your choice.
I think the Savage is aimed at freestylers so may be a little OTT for general use.
Buster is a more of an all-rounder and can be picked up for £219. Popular kites and good value.
Cheers
Steve

The buster is (for me) the choice I would make. Just because I have a few of them and know how versatile and good value they are. However bear in mind that the winter months will bring stronger winds and blustery conditions. De-powers will suit blustery conditions better but require the use of a harness....
It's personal choice really and budget, however as mentioned above. Always take a bigger kite out in a wind thats light for the first time. It's better to work upto the maximum comfortable wind speed for a given kite rather than finding out the hard way....

Feel free to come down to Stevenston any Sunday and have a chat with any of the guys down there. Tho the way the wind has been the last couple weeks, you might not see any de-powers out... (and from the sounds of it, a sky full of 1.4 HQ beemers)
Just keep an eye on the Stevenston meets forum and make sure we'll be there before making the drive through.

Like anywhere, it varies considerably Stu. Take a look at the "Stevenston Meets" section and you'll see what I mean.
Last Sunday was sub-2.0m conditions (40mph gusts), previous weekend was 3.5m weather. If I were you I wouldn't go for a 1.4m unless you've already got a range of kites which cover 2-7m (fixed bridle equivalent) as it's rare that you'd get to use it unless you're addicted to flying in atrocious conditions. Mind you it's a bargain for £49
Given you've already got a 4.5m I'd suggest 2/3/4.5/6.5m fixed bridles or maybe a 6/10m depower. Sizes will vary depending on the specific kite and experience.
As the other Stu says, feel free to head down to Stevenston for a play on our kites and you might find something that floats your boat.
Cheers
Steve

By the way, what is the picture in your profile? It looks like some kind of car speaker system or maybe a TellyTubby's kitchen.

Looks like speakers/subwoofers in a van to me, Transporter or Vito.
There'll be some comps next with your boots system Steve and anyone else who dares challenge you
