Hi Stuart,
Yes I ran it and yes it was hot, too hot. Set off at 3:10:00 pace which and was doing fine until about mile 20 and the heat was too much, never felt pain in my legs like it, had to ease right back and crossed the finish line in 3:23:24. Still over the moon with the result and know on a cooler day I could have got 3:10 or faster but it just wasnt to be.

Well done O
That is a Blooming good time for these conditions. The London Marathon in 2000 was the same and I was amming for sub 3hrs and it took me 3 hrs 29 min but I was the same as you , I knew I could go a lot quicke if the conditions were right.
I didnt do a nother marathon till 2002 ( London ) and yes I got my first sub 3hr marathon ( 2 hrs 59 min ) just but it was still a sub 3hr and thats what counts.
I have done 2 more sub 3hrs since , both of them in the same time of 2hrs 55min and 29 sec( bummer )
Good luck for Inverness ,it wont be hot up there but have hears its a hilly course.
See Yi Soon

Went out tonight for an easy 5 mile run with the club, it is meant to be the club race but I just went out to stretch. Feel better for it.

Hi O
I have just looked at the results page of the Edinburgh Marathon , you even look cool when you are running, you look like you are running a mile and not a Marathon.
Well Done again.
A freind of mine did the Edinurgh Marathon in 2005 in a time of 3hrs 23 min and was hoping to beat that time in this years event but the heat got to him as he could only manage 4hrs 23min .

Cheers

I bumped into bob ,my friend that did the marathon, he said he had nothing left after 18 miles.
He was running with an other guy from Montrose ( john ) who could only manage 4hrs 40 min .John works offshore and went offshore on the Monday after the Marathon and had to be air lifted to hospital on Tuesday because he was felling like shit.It turned out that his blood suger count was to low, all due to running the Marathon.

John got to go to the Montrose music festival so something good came out of it
