Well, about 7 years ago I bought myself a 4m PKD Buster, I was going to buy a 2m PKD Buster but I was adviced by the man in the shop that a 4m would be ideal for a "big guy" like me.
Took the kite in lightish winds (10mph max) and launched it.....I was instantly surprised by the power in this thing and within 2 weeks I bought the 2m Buster! I was hooked
Within 6 months Judith (my better half!) and I launched OGDW.net which was a small site to promote kiting in Scotland and a place where Scottish kiters could chat. I'm not entirely sure when we moved over from that domain to TractionKiting.co.uk but from that day on the site has grown in to what it is now.
I now enjoy freestyle buggying when I get a chance and I also enjoy buggy racing. (Currently sitting in 9th position in Scotland!) We will see if I can better that position this session.
At the weekends if I'm not out kiting I am teaching it.
I am a qualified kite, buggy and landboard instructor.
During the week I am a web developer.
What do I do in my spare time when not teaching or kiting? Judith and I are usually busy organising the next TK event whether that is Just Add Wind, TK on Tiree or some other activity which involves raising money for the RNLI or just getting out and touring the UK in the TK van or car
We are usually found at West Sands, you can't miss us if we are there. You will see the TK flags flying from the van or car. Don't be a stranger, come over and say hello!
So there you go, a short intro in to the life of me.
