Amazing Fun Day!! 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Was at the West Sands Yesterday!! Had an AMAZING time!!

The wind was 20mph-ish, gusts dropped a bit, so wasnt too lumpy!!
was in my Flexi buggy with a 2m Buster II.
Ross was in the SAME buggy with SAME kite!!
We cruised up and down for AGES!! (Clocked up 37.9miles!!)
Was great fun bugging close (At times less than 12" ) almost "pairs" flying with the kites!! but having to watch out fror the kite surfers (about 8? they had a good sesh) Boarders (a couple, but with big kites held high!!) and a couple of random buggiers (some with kids on board!! MOST without helmets!!!!!) plus lots of Joe Public!!

We even had to warn three lots of people about getting caught on the sand bank!! (Tide DID come in quick , One run down to St Andy's and back, and the rivers were impassable!! )

It was the MOST fun I have had in my buggy for YEARS!!!!!

Thanks Ross for the Company, It was a great blast!! D D

One of the "Warning's" was to a couple that were on the sand bank past the "Second river?"
I told them that they had 30mins before they would be trapped, but as it turned out, we passed them on the next run near the end flag (safe!!) but next run, and the FIRST "River" was right across to the "Lagoon"!!!!!

Was fun getting too them, sand was hard (But bumpy!!) and a lot of tacking, but easy back.

The next time the wind is good and the tide is out we should try and cross the 4th river )

Yip, I think the more people we have the safer it will be, also, if a couple of people have buggybags they could carry some extra kites, just in case the wind drops / picks up....

There was talk of having an Enduro course right out on the banks for the Celtic Challenge but if that was on springs at the weekend we'll be on neeps in a fortnights time I suspect.

Its been like this for weeks Tom, really low tides allowing us to get out on to the banks. Im not sure if the river has just changed its course or something but I havent seen the beach this big for so long in ages.

Yesterday was great fun, got out early before the racing started and got in some buggy jumping with the Manta which cleared the head ready for the racing. Since the Manta was setup I thought I might as well race with that aswell Very suprised how well it was keeping up with some of the race kites, I was told I was sitting in 3rd for a while but then I dropped a couple of places I think on the last lap due to the wind dropping slightly and me taking the wrong racing line and trying to cut upwind to hard.....
A great weekend for buggying and just enjoying being outside.
