............got a largish board, suitable for a slightly chunky bloke that wants to get on the water with his venoms, and that he can blag a shot of, so that he can meet up with :angus: and craig...............and gain a further kiting addiction.

(yeah I know, why did I not start when it was hot and sunny....... :fish:

As soon as........... as we are gonna share your board, if the winid is too big, we can also share my V10 and the 12m WindWing (although I think the WW would be a bit more difficult with no Autozeenith malarkey!)

I thought the whole idea was to 'fly' the kite, when you can do that properly you don't need any auto zenith malarky, as you'll know by the feel of it just what the kite is doing and automatically correct it with out even looking at it.

True enough, and I have no problem flying an LEI and can quite happily landboard with one, but I have heard on good authority that one of the hardest parts of learning to kitesurf is actually getting the board on / under your feet, using an ARC means that you can ignore the kite 99% and concentrate on getting your feet on the board and in the straps. Also makes it easier in the inevitable following wipeouts if you don,t have to spend much time re-launching if at all. Therefore in theory you progress faster with an ARC than you would with an LEI, or thats the hope anyhoo.

Getting your feet into the straps and re-launching are 2 of the most important elementary(there's another word I'm thinking of but it just won't jump off the tip of my tongue just now)skills required in Ksurfing. just think, flying your Venom,cross-on wind, you've made it out 200-300 yards off shore. you wipe out taking the kite with you(and it does still happen with PL kites)......here's where you wish you'd practised re-launching.....and what can help with re-launching when your feet can't touch the bottom? that's right.......having the board on your feet to give you something to push against!

Sorry to sound like a crabbit so 'n' so, but I firmly believe that these skills are just as important as being able to jump/go upwind/front mobes etc. etc. etc.

Do what i do and practice putting the board on your feet in the comfort of your living room ( tip i got from a kitesurfer ) he also said to hold onto one footstrap while you put your foot in the other rather than using the grab handle
