been discussing the possibility of putting together a scottish kitesurf dvd for a could months now.

the idea is to make a free dvd from a years kitesurfing in and around scotland, obviously gonna be non-profit so the aim is just something for fun to look back on and maybe promote some of the fantastic locations we have up here...

i was thinking about doing it month by month, maybe having max 10 mins footage from each month. The aim would be to bet to some cool locations and get whoever is around on film. Already have a few trips on the cards this summer Whig could make center pieces to the film.

equipment wise i have a mindv cam that should be enough to give ok picture quality and now a waterproof housing which after a few tweeks should allow some interesting shots form the water.about to get a new wee wide angle lens for the camcorder so can maximise the Field of view for close ups...

music: im at a bit of a dead end with ideas about music, would quite like to use tracks from a load of scottish artists and try and get permission but im not sure how difficult this could be...

obviously it wont be a completely 'professional' production buthopefully with a bit of work could get something half decent together.

whats everyones thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea, would be up for helping out with stuff when I can although i doubt my kitesurf skills would be of a suitable level (unless showing areas suitable beginners)

There was talk about doing a land based version as well and get it ready for the new year, how about a double DVD? Water and Land?

All the kitesurfers just have to be together in one spot when its ballistic so we can get good footage. It will happen one day! Do you have a tripod?

My goal for 07 is to start throwing handlepasses coz there not as hard as everyone makes out so we could get some interesting footage of nasty wipeouts!

I have got a 101 songs buzzing around in my head that would make ace soundtracks - you just gotta match them to the feel and atmosphere of the footage!

have a monopod and craig has a tripod that we should be able to use... to be honest most of the stuff i have been trying to get recently is using the waterproof housing and getting as close to the action as possible ( did you see the vid i posted from shell a few weeks back when conor was killing it! ). hoping to get footage form loads of different angles, i tend to find kitesurf vids taken from a single point get a bit dull.

trying to get everyone together on a good day would be ace but its unlikiely to happen very often

am currenty taking camcorder down most days im out and trying to get a little footage.
