As many will know, I managed to trash my beaut of a 12M Vapor a couple of weeks back. Well was thinking of repairing myself, but the rip a the leading edge was more than I had the choones to attempt. Just so happens that Noggin reminded me about the guy on e-bay that advertises repairs, and a 1 week turnaround.

Well having been quoted around £180 by The Loft and Cygnus, I dropped the dude an e-mail, and got a prompt reply. Spoke to the guy - Andy, and he seemed straight-up and was quoting £45 including return delivery by royal mail parcels (for a bit more could have got a next day)

Sent it last Monday lunch and it arrived back today.

Unpacked it and initially was having difficulty finding the repair!!

What an awesome job!!!

The attention to detail is amazing, the larger rip goes through red to black to white and the exact colour has been used on each bit. Even more amazing is that in the black area there is some white patterns that are supposed to represent vapour, over these white bits Andy has sewn small bits of white ripstop so that the repair is invisible at moe that 2 feet away!!

He also repairs foils as well, does bridle replacement on bows , hybrids and foils. And does really decent ronstan pulleys!!

Recently sent my Ocean Rodeo 9m "One" off to Andy(at)KineticKiteRepair after blowing out my leading edge.......A 25" rip + new bladder + postage come to a brilliant £65......when you consider that Ocean Rodeo themselves charge the same for the bladder alone then you can see how good a price that is.......I can't really comment on the turnaround time as I made the mistake of sending it over the Christmas holidays and it understandably took a touch longer than it usually would

I would highly recommend this for any kite repair

I've also had a kite (7m RRD HyperType) repair done by Andy @ Kinetic..... It was £45 inc. return postage and has been so well done you can hardly notice it's been repaired!!! You REALLY need to look to find it!!! The rip went from Leading edge to trailing edge (totally shredded it on the shingle at Ardersier )

Was out with it last Sunday at Nairn (in up to 50mph winds).... i.e. totally tested the strength of the repair.... needless to say it held out fine

I would say use them with confidence!!!

Kinetic kite repair may not be a legitimate business. I sent my kite a few months ago and sent several emails and called, but no response on the other side.

I think this is a scam. Don't send your kites or you will never see them again.

I even heard of a guy that sent his kite, got the invoice, paid, but did not receive his kite back.

Be careful. Andrew White (if that is his real name) answered the phone only once and that was to get my kite. Nothing thereafter, its been almost 3 months now. The kite I believe is gone.
