I don't know the area. Living in St Andrews always an offshore its killing me.
can someone give me some locations of where you mostly go.

monifieth is very popular for kite surfing

closest to you is Shell bay. Class beach and conditions but can be described as stinking due too alot of rubbish and ladies toiletries that can be seen floating bye.

Then Monifieth. an absolute belter of a spot apart from high tide. An hour either side and it rocks in anything from a SW to E wind direction.

For some reason shell has been very quiet recently and moni is getting busier or so i have been reliably informed.

Give them both a try. I will be back for a few weeks and will be taking every opportunity to get out so if u need directions or info just ask away.

Mac is right, Shell is your closest spot. Not the cleanest beach in the world but when it's going off there really is nowhere like it. Clean set-up/pack down area, huge shallow area when the tide goes out, messy chop with a few nice waves thrown in, a couple of little flatwater spots for getting some great speed runs in.

All that and because of the previously mentioned cleanlines issues it basically amounts to the kitesurfers very own private beach!!!

It's accessed through the Shell Bay caravan Park, buy a parking day pass for £1(lets you use toilets) and get them to direct you where to go if there aren't any kites already visible. Note that the caravan closes from Nov-Mar and the beach is best accessed through Drumeldrie between these times

is it closed completely between those dates???

in the past you have been able to get as far as the gate by the shop with the exception of 3 or 4 weeks over christmas when its closed at the main gate.
